Join us on Sundays during term-time, online, to obtain a Level 1 or 2 Pearson's Project Qualification (FPQ or HPQ). As a Project qualification student you will benefit from our Art History teaching throughout the course, gaining key subject knowledge and research skills while receiving mentoring and support as you develop and complete your individual project.

Art History Link-Up has delivered project-based Art History courses since 2019. Students are supported by Art History Link-Up's expert teachers and specialist teaching assistants, with additional support and guidance offered by Dr John Taylor, Chair of Examiners for Project Qualifications at Pearson.

I'm quite a shy person...one of those people that sits in the back of the class and doesn't raise their hand. But I found that even though I wasn't confident in what I was saying, I would still say it because I felt like it wouldn't be judged. - Y9 AHLU Art History HPQ student

Throughout the course students will develop core Art History knowledge and analytical skills through guided teaching sessions, supporting the research and development of their own independent project. Students who wish to continue their studies in Art History will also gain a strong foundation for further academic work in the subject.

Benefits of the Course:

  • Learn about art through history and gain new skills in a dynamic and exciting learning environment alongside a world-class art collection
  • Exciting and dynamic activities, including curating your own gallery.
  • The opportunity to achieve either a Higher Project Qualification or a Foundation Project Qualification with Pearson Edexcel.
  • Support from Pearson’s Chair of Examiners for Project Qualifications, Dr John Taylor.
  • Taught by highly experienced Art and Art History teachers.
  • Completely free of charge, including exam entry, for state students in Y9 and 10.

Pearson's Foundation and Higher Project Qualifications are accredited qualifications designed to develop independent learning. They allow students to explore a subject area of personal interest and produce a substantial piece of work such as a research report, creative project, design, or curated presentation. These qualifications help students build confidence in independent study and provide valuable preparation for future Level 3 study, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), A levels, and other advanced courses.

*All places are free for state school students, with priority given to candidates from a widening participation background, and to those with exceptional aptitude and ability for the course. Widening participation indicators include eligibility for Pupil Premium (i.e. free school meals) and/or a parent who has not attended FE/HE
